Pathway to CGPA® Certification
The Certified Global Professional Accountant (CGPA®) designation is awarded to professionals who demonstrate academic qualification, relevant experience, and successful completion of the prescribed program and assessments. The certification process is designed to ensure that all credential holders meet established standards of technical competence, professional experience, and ethical responsibility.
The pathway to certification follows a structured progression.
Step 1: Confirm Eligibility
Applicants must meet the minimum academic and professional requirements before pursuing certification. Eligible candidates must:
Hold a bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Management Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline
Possess at least five (5) years of relevant managerial accounting or finance experience, which may be accumulated before, during, or after completion of the program
These requirements ensure that candidates possess both foundational knowledge and practical exposure necessary for advanced professional recognition.
Step 2: Complete the CGPA® Program
Candidates must successfully complete the prescribed CGPA® curriculum and structured learning modules, covering governance, strategy, sustainability, and enterprise leadership. The program integrates both theoretical knowledge and applied professional competencies.
Step 3: Assessment and Examination
Certification culminates in the successful completion of the CGPA® examinations and assessments, which evaluate technical mastery, analytical capability, and professional judgment.
The assessment process ensures that candidates meet the required standards of competence expected of CGPA® professionals.
Step 4: Award of the CGPA® Designation
Upon satisfying the academic, experience, and assessment requirements, candidates are formally awarded the Certified Global Professional Accountant (CGPA®) designation and may use the professional title in accordance with institutional policies.
